When God Committed "SUICIDE"

"The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us... (John 1:14.)

When the "Word" -- who "was God" (verse 1) -- "became flesh," it was a suicidal act! For He could already suffer death. He could now absorb all the pains common to man.

We heard many stories both fact and fiction how an individual would be willing to suffer death to save someone close to him. Yet, God offered His Life for those who are "far distanced" from Him, because of their sins.

"Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous man, though for a good man someone might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us" (Rom. 5:7-8).

He performed that suicidal act for the elect, so they could enjoy a close relationship with Him -- through His Spirit, right now, He could also dwell with them.

Are you one of those who believe that the Sovereign God could do it for you?

I do not think that 'suicide' is the best choice of words.
Did our LORD take His own life?
He did not commit suicide in the sense that you or I would have to, in other words, by our own hands.
He did trust His soul to God our Father.
But did He actually kill Himself??

Oo nga po. Kasi po matutuwa ba ang Diyos kung suisuicide ako para sa friend ko? Kung idonate ko po ang puso ko sa kanya sa operation niya, matutuwa po ba ang Dios?
